Running IE7 on XP and need to import the Self signed cert?

(stealing the instructions from Karen Christain of North County Technology Group)

When you launch IE7.. you'll get a red colored warning screen about the Self signed cert not being trusted.... to fix this issue follow Karen's instructions...

Click 'Continue to this website (not recommended) and then click on 'Certificate Error' on the top bar.  View Certificates and Install, Next, Next, Finish, OK, OK.  No cert error after that.

Amazing that some are only starting to complain *now*.

This works but the error remains and the URL address is still red. Don't you think the MS SBS folks could have a real patch by now this has been happening for months in beta.

Hi Susan, Fails dismally in IE7 x64 on Vista RC2 x64 - as I have reported to the Vista devs on numerous occasions. There's no "Install" option.

OK, sure, there's the "Run as administrator" bit which I forgot about (not enough bourbon yet, apparently), but the certificate error remains and the red "Certificate Error" address bar still indicates that this is a broken/dangerous website. That's wrong - it's not. This isn't going to be good when clients are runnign Vista on their home systems and need to RWW or OWA into the office network - red = after hours calls to me (at best). :)

Install the cert in the trusted site zone and the issue goes away.

Also keep in mind that the SBS dev team plan to release a Vista fix up patch like they did to better integrate XP sp2 with SBS.

Vista hasn't RTMd.
