CCH - and staying in support
Dear ProSystem fx Customer:
CCH believes in providing state-of-the-art products, with features that keep you current with the industry's evolving technologies. In support of this philosophy and in alignment with Microsoft's own product support decisions and schedules, beginning with release 2005.07000, Windows 98, Windows ME, Windows XP Service Pack 1 and Office 97 will no longer be supported for The ProSystem fx Office suite.
As previously communicated, beginning with ProSystem fx Tax release 2005.07000, scheduled for delivery the week of November 13, 2006, Microsoft .Net v2.0 framework and Windows Services Enhancement (WSE) v3.0 components are now required to support the new web based Electronic Filing Status system. In order for the ProSystem fx setup program to install these new components, the following system requirements are required:
Windows XP Service Pack 2
Windows 2000 Service Pack 4
Important Notice to Windows 98 and/or Windows ME customers: The ProSystem fx Tax program (v. 2005.07000) will not allow Windows 98 or ME users to install the CD/DVD or run the Workstation Setup program due to the above stated .Net v2.0 framework and WSE v3.0 system requirements.
Please ensure that all workstations that will access ProSystem fx Tax are upgraded to meet these requirements prior to installing the CD/DVD for Pfx Tax v. 2005.07000.
ProSystem fx Tax release 2005.07000 will only be available via CD and/or DVD for installation. There will be no e-fx available for download on this release.
Note to Global fx customers: The Windows XP and 2000 Service Pack requirements noted above do not apply to exclusive Global fx customers as the .Net v2.0 framework and WSE v3.0 components will be installed on the CCH servers.
