Sometimes...when your tests are done... you don't even wait for WSUS or Shavlik
Alert on DOMAIN at 8/8/2006 7:25:50 PM
The server restarted. If this event was not planned, check the Server Performance Report and Event Logs for information that can help explain the event.
You can disable this alert or change its threshold by using the Change Alert Notifications task in the Server Management Monitoring and Reporting taskpad.
Sometimes when you want to patch and there's a critical patch... I pull the plug and MU the box.
Patched and rebooted here... on to the workstations next....for those I will wait for the normal WSUS/Shavlik routine...but servers... I'll manually pull the patch button if I feel that I'm paranoid enough with the threat of the vulnerability... and I'm confident enough in the patch.
Needless to say I was paranoid and confident tonight.
