Thanks Susan.. I have rolled out Acronis at home and at work and appreciate the heads up:http://msmvps.com/blogs/bradley/archive/2006/07/27/106033.asp...
When was the last time you restored from your backups? If you answer "never" (or even anything approaching...
Actually Alun, Dave, Sean and I had that very conversation at TechEd before the concert (can't remember if you were there or not). Prompted me to look a little harder at testing bare metal and partial restore scenarios and what fun it is! Sharepoint is just a way too much fun in a restore scenario, but most of it RTFM carefully.
Yeah, the company I work at does a full DR drill every few months - takes over office space and computers out of town, throws a bunch of people in there and makes them recover from the documentation provided. Then makes them do work from the recovered systems, to make sure it's all good. Then the company takes them out for a celebratory meal to congratulate them - whether it worked or not, because of course, if it failed, it's the fault of the guys who made the backups or the instructions.
FWIW: I *believe* the Kaseya/Acronis issue has been resolved.
