Trend needed hotfix to send Perf reports out after V3

Wayne in the newsgroup reports that .....

FYI..There is a patch for Trend Micro V3 which corrects issues with SBS2003 Reports and other not being sent to external domains.

For  others who may have this issue you need; Client Server Messaging Security 3.0 - Messaging Security Agent Hot Fix - Build 1157

The zip file is; Smex_7.2_11571.zip

 

Which includes; csm_30_smex_72_win_en_hfb1157.exe

 

Which fixes:

"This hot fix corrects an issue that some MIME formats could cause    Message Module(TMMSG) to convert the original SMTP message into a wrong format. Converting the SMTP message into the wrong format  might cause Outlook Express to time out when retrieving email messages using the POP3 protocol."

 

Applies to SMTP too. Once the hotfix was applied SBS2003 Performance reports go straight out and Meeting Requests arrive intact.

No, Trend, you put a patch like that in a place that those of us who live in a 24/7 world work and live in can get to it.

I agree Wayne, I have alot of trend clients,
I like there product, however There "Real world" support is the worse. Imagine having to ask MS for every single patch each time for EVERY one of your clients.

Trend should fix this support issue or someone recomend a better AV package.

Susan, smex70_win_en_hfb1157.exe is completely different from csm_30_smex_72_win_en_hfb1157.exe. They fix different issues on different products. I expect that is amongst the reasons why they are not generally availible for download. If you applied a 7 fix to a 7.2 problem you might find it causes more issues. What you should be ranting about is why the naming conventions are so confusing and why they need to release sooo many hotfixes and patches anyway!

Its things like having to email a request for a needed hotfix that continually makes the train late !

This hotfix should be scheduled into the automatic updates installed with the software in the first place.

Do a google search for csm_30_smex_72_win_en_hfb1157.exe. Look for the result titled "Solution Details". Click on the "cached" link underneath this result. This will take you to a Google cached web page. You will be able to find a download link from Trend Micro's website so you can download this hotfix.
