Right now your admin did a stupid thing... they put a “please notify infected parties when I receive virus laden emails from someone that they need to have someone look at their mailserver” setting. 

But here's the thing.

It's a totally STUPID setting.

With all the spoofed emails today it's totally meaningless.  Man if you were not blocking zip files I'd be doing it right now because this Sober variant is changing so fast that trusting your antivirus will keep up with it is stupid.

So Mr. host.hawk.igs.net? 

Shut off the virus notifications ...they are meaningless.....they only add to the Sober variant problem.

One of the great features of Sybari it differentiates between viruses and worms. That way you can set worms to not have notifications.

That's funny. I am actually with that ISP. They are based up here in Ontario, Canada and they are a (relatively) small ISP. I agree with you %110 on the auto-responders. I had to fight with my boss when I took over our mail server at work - he wanted to leave it on.

IGS (not to sound like an add) is actually the best ISP I have been with. I have phoned up the techs and helped them trouble shoot problems by suggestings MTU changes and what not.

Did you email them a complaint/suggestion?
