Find the details about what’s new in Windows SBS 2003 with SP1. Service packs and updates are listed in tables and categorized by the Windows SBS feature area for easy reference.

Hmmmm..... I think I smell something cooking in the kitchen and getting near done, don't you?

Remember 60 days from March 31st is the official date, but if I were you I'd be checking Dell and HP and your hardware vendor for any compatibility issue with Windows 2003 sp1 now.

In fact, that reminds me, I need to go do that myself  :-)

# Dell OpenManage and SP1

Wednesday, April 27, 2005 5:58 PM by bradley

Dell has already reported a problem with the OpenManage server management software (currently 4.3) and SP1. I just brought up our old Dell PE1500 as a member server with 2K3 and had to take note of that. (

Dell promises OpenManage 4.4 will be compatible with SP1 and come "in late May". Both our servers (the old and the new 1800 that runs SBS) need to be updated.

One of the most interesting things about Windows Server 2003 SP1 is the security configuration wizard. Running it is an education in itself. However, in the readme, it references SBS and directs you not to run the security configuration wizard if you have SBS. SBS is apparently already hardened and the SBS wizards take the place of the Win SP1 security configuration wizard. Another heads up and all the more reason to pay close attention before you go applying SBS SP1.
