From today's mailbag...Joel writes "Do you remember MSKB?"

When you could type in MSKB into your Internet Explorer and it would immediately jump to the Microsoft Knowledge base article?

Oh yes I do remember that and blogged about it before.  But I just found a better one!

Internet Explorer Address Bar Tweaks for Techies:

Note that to get the Security bulletin one to work I had to edit it to;

http://www.microsoft.com/technet/security/bulletin/MS%s.mspx

Look for the entry at HK_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\SearchURL\sb and edit accordingly.

If you want to have similar functionality in FireFox, you can install the search extension for Microsoft.

No browser evangelism here, just another quick useful tip for users of FireFox and Mozilla who search the KB often.

Extensions for the search box on the toolbar are available by clicking the "add engines" link in the bottom of the search engines drop down, (just click on the icon in the search box if you haven't noticed this before). This will take you to Mycroft, the search engine plugin repository. Search for Microsoft and click on the link to add the plugin for support.microsoft.com.

Now you just switch the search box to the Microsoft icon and type in your Q number. Not exactly the same, but it works to find specific Q articles most of the time.
