Microsoft released an updated version (1.1) the tool yesterday. Though, it's a great tool. There are certain limitations, for example it only allow you to migrate all websites, you need to do it one at a time; it does not support other components migration except w3svc (web), migration for fpse with many restrictions and more. The download page also highlighted few details to take note.
Sometimes, I found using either MetaEdit or Metabase Explorer to import / export is faster, easier and cleaner :)
This time is from the team that brought you the HTTP.sys kernel driver. What kinds of improvement you like to see for this kernel driver? wouldn't it be nice if we can customize the famous 503 'service not available' error message? or have a more comprehensive and detail httperr log? I've been pretty quiet this month :) Well, as you know I'm busy and I'm so sick with my thesis now, do you ever have nightmare about your thesis? man! almost everynight I have dreamt about statistic formulas!!!!!!!!! you know sometime like when you feel like you are sleeping, but actually you are not, but then you are not awake too. It's like half each, that's even toturing !!!!
Anyway, I was hanging at www.asp.net as usual and found that Microsoft IIS team has started a team blog since last week! There are two posts so far, hope to see more postings and more inside IIS stuff !
Now, back to my thesis :( two more weeks to go and I will be a FREE MAN!!!!!!!
