Greetings

After much avoidance I've decided to start a blog.  Ok, maybe the fact that one of my mentors told me that applying for a Professional Engineer license requires submitting narratives about project design almost exactly like a blog had something to do with it.  But I'd never admit to something like that, doesn't it sound unlikely to you too?

I've formally been an Engineer-in-Training since passing the FE exam before receiving my BS in EE back in May 2002, but I haven't actually done much toward obtaining a license as a Professional Engineer.  Time for that to change, and right now I have a golden opportunity to start preparing -- a project of moderate scope on which I will be doing the lion's share of the work but undergo review by a PE.  So I asked this PE what steps he would recommend to make sure I can include this work in my portfolio and here we are.  So without further ado, let's introduce the project.

I've got several PE sponsors, but Rick is the one mentioned here.
