Outlook Connector constantly "Uploading changes in Contacts"

I have put in a lot of effort moving my Contacts to my MSN Addressbook. After making many changes (Working Online) I noticed that one Mail profile keeps syncing with the message "Uploading changes in Contacts 1 of 6" for a week now. I don't even know what changes it is referring to since I have so many contacts. I created a new profile and everything seemed to download OK, but after making a few contact changes it now keeps on "Uploading changes in Contacts 1 of 1" all day now. On another PC the same error is happening but instead it is "Downloading changes in Calendar 1 of 18" for three days. I enabled logging but can't decipher the log file. Is there a way to fix this?

I too am having problems with Hotmail and Yahoo Email accounts. I've contacted Microsoft several times and followed instructions, but nothing seems to work. Hopefully someone here can help.

A month ago i found that i could log on fine to Hotmail, but i couldn't read my messages- when the Today page loaded, an "Error on Page" msg appeared in the status bar at the bottom, and i could't access the emails when i clicked on a new or old email. I contacted Microsoft, checked firewalls, cookies, cleared history, did everything they suggested.

Anyway, fed up, i abandoned hotmail and set up a Yahoo account. It worked fine for a few days, then it did the same thing! I can access stuff fine from other computers, ITS JUST HAPPENING FROM MY HOME COMPUTER. Could it be a virus/Internet explorer glitch?????

i tried the regsvr32 c:\progra~1\msn\msncorefiles\mailui.dll it came up failed.the specified module could not be found.

Hi Guilaume,

Glad to see this usefull page you have. Im a bit let down that Microsoft doesnt have something like this on its own though. Two days ago my MSN stopped funcioning. With that i mean i cant login anymore and my password seems to off changed. I tried recovery but i dont remember the secret question as its a four year old account. I send two support tickets to Microsoft, first one three days ago now, and i have no reply of them till now. I need my account back as i used it for alot of business contacts, since my business is 100% located on the internet. Iv tried from different pcs so it really is the password that got changed or the account that got inactive (i didnt send an email for a long time from it, however still checked the mails weekly). My support ticket 180952644. Please advice what i can do.

After I posted my inquiry, I continued to search websites regarding inability to access MSN websites such as Windows Update, as well as My MSN, Hotmail, etc.

Based on some comments at some of the sites, I discovered that my IE6 was indicating "Cypher Strength = 0"

I found MSN sites that addressed this problem directly for various Windows versions.

Before attempting to follow the detailed steps at the MSN sites, I simply downloaded IE6 again and this returned IE6 to "Cypher Strength = 128" and as I am writing this using Hotmail, obviously the problem was solved. Other people may have to follow the step-by-process that involves re-naming (as "old") three DLLs: schannel.dll; rsabase.dll; and rsaenh.dll. Then IE6 is downloaded again and installed which will provide error-free and updated versions of these DLL files.

I have another problem but you have already done enough for me. I have sent MSN an inquiry about it as I can find no mention of it anywhere. MSN Messenger attempts to log on, halts, and produces a bad-grammar error message with no details or clues except to select the famous "OK" button. This error message says (and I recheck it here to be very sure it is exactly as displayed):

The following error caused Not enough storage is available to complete this operation. to close: ? ?i|

Between the two question marks (?) there is a cent symbol that I cannot reproduce here.

Anyhow thank you very much and perhaps the information I send here may help someone else. That is, the possibility of a Cypher Strength = 0 problem.

In my post a few minutes ago, I forgot to mention that I am not using a firewall. My ISP is NetZero with a 56K dialup. I have run virus and spyware checks with negative results.
