Hello folks,
Receive Connectors can be configured using Exchange Management Shell (ADD-ADPermission cmdlet) or using ADSIEdit.msc. Using the second option we can manage permission following these steps:
-
Open ADSIEdit.msc
-
Expand Configuration, Services, Microsoft Exchange, Administrative Groups, Exchange Administrative Group (FYDIBOHF23SPDLT), Servers, <Server Name>, Protocols and finally SMTP Receive Connectors
-
In the right side we will see all Connectors available to the server and we can right-click on it and click on Properties

Here we go.. now we can configure specific user/groups permissions and also manage users in the Receive Connnector.

Best Regards,
Anderson Patricio

Hello folks,
During the OCS Forest preparation we have the option to choose where we are going to store the OCS Global Configuration (as shown in the figure below). Andrew Sniderman (http://communicationsserverteam.com/articles/142.aspx) blogged some tips to help you to decide which is the best solution for your deployment.

His post can be found at http://communicationsserverteam.com/archive/2008/04/18/152.aspx

Hello folks,
We have different ways to get information about SCR sources. Unfortunately none of them are using Exchange Management Console.
Using only the native cmdlet we can get this information running the following cmdlet:
Get-StorageGroup | select Name,StandbyMachines and you will have a list of all Storage groups and their respective SCR sources.
There is a script to help us out, the script is called GetSCRSources.ps1 and it can be found under scripts folder. You just need run ./GetScrSources.ps1 and we will receive a list with only the Storage Group(s) that are being replicated to the current server.
You can also run ./GetSCRSources.ps1 <Servername> to validate SCR sources in a specific server.
Best Regards,
Anderson Patricio

Hello folks,
If you just open Active Directory Users and Computers (dsa.msc) on a x64 server the OCS tabs will not show up. Then, how can we enable it? We can execute the 32 bits version of the Active Directory users and Computers, using the following command:
dsa.msc -32

Hello folks,
This week I'm participating of the Interact 2008 in San Diego. The event has been great and today I went to two nice sessions with Scott Schnoll and Nino Bilic.
During the first session Scott and Nino Bilic presented a Prototype tool called Exchange Remote Connectivity Analyzer which helps us to validate some components of Exchange Server 2003 and Exchange Server 2007, such as: Audotodiscover connectivity, Outlook 2003 RPC/HTTP Connectivity and test Inbound SMTP E-mail Test as well.
How can I download such tool? It's not necessary because it's web based. It's very cool, isn't it? Here is the link: https://www.testexchangeconnectivity.com/
By the way, It's a SSL protected site however it's recommend to create a dummy user in your environment and use it in the Test Exchange Connectivity web site.

Anderson Patricio
