I am using WIndows server 2008 64 bit edition. I tried to configure ADS. But i am getting an error saying that

" The local adiministrator account becomes the domain administrator when u create a New domain. The new domain cannot be created bcause the local administrator password does not meet the requirements.

Currently a password is not required for the local administrator account. We recommend that you use the net user command-line tool with the /passwordreq:yes option to require a password for this account before u create the new domain; otherwise a will not be required for the domain administrator account."

I cannot proceed further to create a new domain. Please help.

Sounds like you just need to assign a password for your Administrator account.  It must meet the complextiy rules though which I believe is min 8 characters, and 3 out of the 4 following characters, lower case, uppercase, numbers, and/or symbols.
