Access 2003 hotfix package: April 16, 2008

"- In Access 2003, when you save an .mdb database in the design view, the properties of the sub-database in the .mdb database are lost.
- You install the Office 2003 Service Pack 3 on a client computer. Then, in Access 2003, the Append dialog box of an append query does not show all the tables within the database."

I can't figure out what that first problem refers to. What's a "sub-database?"

I found a new bug (application faulting) in Access 2003 + SP3 + KB 945674 installed under Windows XP.

With an ADP project(SQL Server 2000 Database) , regarding two tables linked by one-to-many relationship when you open the master table you expand the child table .

The problem occurs when you delete all record of the child table first and then when you attempt to delete the record of the master table the application faulting occurs.

I sent the automatic report to Microsoft.

I hope Microsoft correct this bug soon .

Jean-Yves, I've reported your bug to the Microsoft Access product group.  I'll let you know if they have a response.

However I suspect that, while they will look at this problem and fix it in the next SP, this won't be a high priority.  I say that because users shouldn't be looking at the table view anyhow.  Only developer types.  

I will add though that Microsoft really appreciates foilks sending in their crash reports.  Microsoft know what kind of pain this causes and crash fixes are a high priority for SPs.

I inform you that the bug occurs also in a table view but also when we include subdatasheets in a form.

I'm told by Jean-Yves that MS gave him a patch that worked and that the patch should be available in September.  Of this year.  Not next year.  <smile>

Do note that it takes quite a while for Microsoft to thoroughly run patches through their entire automated testing process.

I have good news regarding my problem (.adp file when deleting child rows and deleting parent row , access 2003 not responding).

Microsoft has released the offical hotfix :
