10 good reasons not to provide free tech support

10 good reasons not to provide free tech support An amusing read.  Thankfully I've never had any situation too close to those mentioned.   I will also add though i won't spend more than five or ten minutes working on a friend's computer problem unless they're a very good friend.

# re: 10 good reasons not to provide free tech support

The article "10 good reasons not to provide free tech support " is right on.  I have encountered the same things.  When I tell people I don't know about a particular program, they act like they don't hear and keep going on about it.  They also think I am an expert in copiers and fax machines.  No matter how many times I suggest to "reboot" whenever a problem occurs, they don't do it.  One time a fellow "church goer" from a former church asked me to help a 90 year old woman set up her new computer.  When i said no, he claimed it was "my ministry" to do it.  I asked him why it wasn't his ministry and he didn't have an answer...lol.

I can write a similar list on why not to own a pickup truck.

God Bless,

<chuckle>  It took me a few seconds to understand your comment about pickup trucks.

Go for it.  Write your list.  If you like email it to me and I'll post it as a guest blog entry.   Or put it on your website and I'll create a blog entry linking to it.
